Hannah Burd writes stories for romantics with a taste for trouble.

Drawn to the strange, atmospheric, and slightly dangerous, Hannah writes across genres, following whatever story refuses to leave her alone. Her books blend romance with adventure, mystery, humor, history, and the occasional brush with the supernatural. Whether her characters are navigating treacherous seas alongside an infuriatingly charming pirate or uncovering secrets buried within the walls of an old Southern estate, Hannah is most interested in the people at the center of the chaos—their relationships, their flaws, and the wonderfully questionable decisions they make along the way.

A lifelong lover of mysteries and the unexplained, Hannah has always been fascinated by the darker corners of history, folklore, psychology, true crime, and all the things we can't quite explain. Those interests have a habit of finding their way into her fiction, usually alongside sharp banter, complicated relationships, determined women, and at least one person who probably should have known better.

For Hannah, writing has never been about staying neatly inside the boundaries of one genre. It's about telling the stories she would want to disappear into herself: stories that can make you laugh on one page, fall in love on the next, and occasionally make you wonder whether you should leave the hallway light on.

When she isn't writing, Hannah can usually be found reading, researching her latest hyperfixation, traveling whenever she gets the chance, or collecting enough obscure historical and paranormal knowledge to become mildly concerning at dinner parties. She shares her home in the Pacific Northwest with an assortment of beloved animals who regularly attempt to interfere with her writing process.

Above all, Hannah believes stories should be an escape—a chance to get lost somewhere unfamiliar, meet people you aren't quite ready to leave behind, and experience a little adventure without having to personally survive the shipwreck, solve the murder, or investigate the haunted house.

Although, admittedly, she'd probably investigate the haunted house.
